Suzani

A suzani is a tribal textile hand embroidered on linen or silk. The patterns are often vibrant in nature and were said to have mystical properties. The tribes of Central Asia made these as bridal gifts for bed covers or wall hangings. Some of the most popular are from Samarkand in Uzbekistan.
